This is Oscar, a six year old castrated male.
Oscar came into rescue when his owner was made homeless. Due to his owners ill health, he was confined to his home and garden for many months and has become uneasy in the outside world. He is wary of men and takes time to trust new people. He appears Ok around other dogs but may need further socialisation. He has not lived with children and we would therefore not place him in a home with any children younger than teenagers. He has not lived with cats and would not be placed in a home where there is a resident cat. Oscar needs a home with patience and understanding and one that is willing to show him that the world is a kind place with nothing to fear. He is a strong boy on the lead, mainly due to the fact that he has not been walked for some time. His new home would need to have someone around most of the day as he will need dedication and the time necessary to enable him to build trust and confidence.
There is a typical Labrador inside Oscar just waiting for the right home to encourage to surface. If you feel that you have the experience to help this boy and are not going to give up at the first hurdle, Oscar can be viewed in kennels if a prospective home has passed the necessary home check.
