Wiggle Dog of the Year 2008 - Wiggle

Wiggle is lovely dog who, through no fault of his own, was given up  and must have felt so sad to have known love but suddenly denied affection.  His skin condition was not treated by a Vet so he was left to suffer and when he came into foster care, he had bald patches, was very thin and only weighed 27kgs.  His ears were just a mess, through all his scratching but despite all his problems he was a happy, waggy, wiggly dog.  Now he is in foster care he is responding well to proper care and attention and will gradually stop scratching and grow some fur back for the winter.  So Wiggle is Dog of the Year 2008

Paddy

Dog of Courage 2008 - Paddy

This dog has suffered with pancreatitius, a large tumour in the mouth, removal of teeth, tumour behind the eye and a haematoma but despite all this he remains happy and content.  I am sure if I had all those problems I would be one grumpy old man but the true wonder of the Labrador shows through in Paddy's case that is why he is Dog of Courage 2008.

Most Improved Dog - Storm.  The reason for this is that 2 families could not cope but with perseverance, and a little bit of training, this dog has been turned into a loving pet.  This says a lot about the Storm but also Labrador Rescue South East & Central for not giving up on a dog, that some might say, was beyond help.  Storm is Most Improved Dog 2008.
