LOOKING FOR A HOME IN BEDS, BUCKS, HERTS, BERKS NORTH OF M4, P’BORO, CAMBS AND OXON
****PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET ALL THE CRITERIA LISTED****
This adorable girl is just 4 months old and has come to us as her lovely family were struggling with her continual mouthing which was particularly bad around the young child in the family. Mouthing is common in labrador puppies but some worse than others and she will clearly need an EXPERIENCED home who can work through the ‘puppy’ stage with help and advice from her current fosterer. She loves other dogs, and we do feel that she would benefit from being in a home with another patient older dog (but it would need to be one capable of the rough and tumble she will bring with her!). They can often help show them what is acceptable and what is not. She will need someone who is home and can give her the attention she needs. She will need to attend training classes going forward so we will expect her new owner to sign up to a local facility. Her exercise will need to be managed carefully to protect young maturing joints and avoid problems in the future. Mental activities can be as important as physical ones. Because of the mouthing in her previous home we will not rehome her to a family with young children, so ideally teenage plus. She MUST be spayed at the appropriate time in the future (as advised by the vet). She is a clever girl who is keen to learn given clear direction. Make no mistake, labrador puppies can be seriously hard work so her new home will need to be committed to bringing her to her full potential using only reward based training.
A representative of the Charity will arrange regular follow up visits/calls with her new owners going forward once placed and vet references will be requested.
