Sadie is a lively and demanding 7 month old yellow bitch puppy who has come into rescue because of the changing home circumstances of her family. She is now being fostered with us as she had to leave her home as an emergency.
She has missed out on some puppy training and development, which she should have experienced, and will need a calm, consistent home so that she learns how to behave in an appropriate way. Sadie has spent the last few weeks in concentrated behavior development and training. This is ongoing. We would expect her new home to carry on the training that we have started.
For that reason we would not support rehoming Sadie to a home with children under 16 or where she will be left for significant periods during the day. She has not been used to being left so this will need to be developed. Her new home will have to be both experienced and thoughtful in how they approach and prioritise her training. We will give full details of the training and development work we have been doing with her and give support for the new home to continue the same way.
In foster she is sharing our home with two Labradors who she gets on well with. One male 2 yrs and one bitch 10 yrs.
We are confident she will develop all the very best Labrador traits in due course.
She has not yet been spayed but the charity will provide a grant towards the cost of this when appropriate. We would not expect her to be spayed until she has had her first season.
Preference will be given to homes in Kent, but it is more important for us to find the right home where Sadie will be able to grow and prosper.
We will be able to share details of her past and particular development needs with the homes that we shortlist
