This beautiful boy needs a new home through no fault of his own.

LRSEC understands that he was raised from puppyhood in a family with young children, who had not enough time to give him training or boundaries. He could potentially be placed in a home with children, providing they are of a dog-savvy age.

His current owners are a retired couple and they took him on at the end of last year, but they are finding him too strong on the lead for them physically to manage. He has also reacted to other dogs whilst on the lead. He will lunge towards, mostly bark at and sometimes growl at other dogs if seen.

He is able to walk nicely on a lead; if given the right guidance and attention. However, he pulls strongly when he wants to sniff and initially resists correction.

Off lead, he is reported to be fine with other dogs, but will run up to them and has no recall at the time. At other times, his recall is selective.

He has been helped by a dog trainer, who thinks that all of this could be overcome with further training and socialisation. It won’t be a quick fix, but consistency will pay off in time for someone willing to be committed, patient and confident in their handling of him.

It may be possible to continue his training with the same guidance, if the location of the new owner is accessible to the trainer.

In the house, he’s a perfect gentleman – calm, settled, gentle and well mannered.
