2495 Meet this lovely 5-year-old Black Labrador Female

Profile

This beautiful 5-year-old black female Labrador is a loving, affectionate girl who enjoys being close to her people and is happiest when she can be part of family life. She is in good overall health, with a lovely shiny coat and bright eyes. At around 27kg, she is currently a little overweight, but with regular exercise and a consistent routine, she should soon be back to a healthier weight.

She is a friendly and sociable dog who has previously lived happily with children and babies of all ages, as well as cats. She also has a good history of living alongside other dogs and enjoys their company, although she is currently an only dog.

She is house-trained and generally very good in the home. She loves her comforts and is used to being allowed on the sofa, where she particularly enjoys a good cuddle.

Like many Labradors, she is a playful girl and absolutely loves chasing a ball. She enjoys getting out and about and would benefit from a home where she can have plenty of regular walks and opportunities to explore. She can pull a little on a short lead but walks much better on a longer lead. She travels exceptionally well in the car and, having grown up in a rural environment, is very comfortable around livestock.

Water is another favourite! She enjoys showers, ponds and streams, although she isn’t particularly keen on the hosepipe. She can be a little unsure of the sea but is perfectly happy enjoying time at the beach.

She is currently fed a specialist allergy-friendly dry food and will need to continue with an appropriate diet. She also needs her anal glands checked and, where necessary, expressed by a vet approximately every three months. She is not currently vaccinated, so this will need to be addressed as part of her ongoing care.

The Charity will cover any medical costs relating to her anal glands.

The home we’re looking for

This is a very difficult rehoming decision, made because of a change in her owner’s personal circumstances and the increasing costs associated with her specialist diet and care.

We are looking for a loving, stable home where she can receive plenty of companionship, affection and regular exercise. She would suit a family who enjoys spending time with their dog and can give her the attention and active lifestyle she deserves.

She is a genuinely loving Labrador with lots of affection to give, and we are hoping to find her a wonderful home where she can settle in and enjoy the next chapter of her life.
