We are looking for a very experienced home for this handsome lad.
He is a boisterous boy who is still in need of ongoing training. He is crate trained and can be left for a couple of hours in his crate after exercise and with a chewy toy. He can be reactive to other dogs, mainly due to fear as he was recently attacked and quite badly bitten by another dog. He can display fear aggression when another dog comes into view. He might bark and lunge forward towards the other dog, more so if the other dog appears threatening or dominant. He has recently been castrated and although this will not solve this issue, it may improve some of his other typical teenage boy behaviours in the near future. We are looking for a very specific home for this lad. Any new prospective home should be experienced in dealing with fear aggression and would be confident in the future to begin to socialise him with other dogs in a controlled environment. Ideally his new home would be in a rural area where he wouldn’t be saturated by other dogs on walks.
His new family should be home most of the day and will have time to commit to train him and give him the attention he deserves. His recall is non-existent as he has not been let off the lead in a public place, so this will need work too. He hasn’t lived with children so we can only consider teenagers if children are present in a new prospective home. Despite the negatives, he loves people and would make someone a great companion.
If you feel that you have the experience to bring out the best in this boy, please register your interest for consideration.
