This lovely boy is 7 years old and is looking for a new home due to a change in the families circumstances. He has been owned by the same family since a pup. However, 3 years ago went to live with their parents as he had nipped when the family were trying to remove something from his mouth. As there were young children in the home the family thought that was the right thing to do all round. Since then this has not happened again.
He loves and craves attention. He doesn’t jump up or paw you but he puts himself right in front of you and looks up at you with those big eyes and will sometimes nudge your hand gently for a stroke. He does settle down, but will jump up if people get up in the room. The home have another older lab that they have had for a while and he also is an attention seeker so both together leads to friction between the dogs. By themselves the dogs co-exist fine, but both get jealous if the other is getting attention. So we feel being an only dog will be best.
He does knows some very basic commands. He does pull on the lead and will stop and mark and sniff while ignoring your efforts to get him to keep walking, but this gets better as he continues into his walk. He does get excited when he sees another dog while out on a walk and will pull to say hello. Work on his recall and manners is needed, he goes deaf once the lead is removed.
We are looking for an experienced adult home who enjoy long walks and are up for some training, as they say you are never too old to learn!
