    This is an appeal to the good folk of Lincolnshire who may be looking to adopt a Labrador in desperate need.
    We currently have a four year old yellow male looking for a very patient, committed and kind and loving home. He has come into rescue under particularly unique circumstances.
    This lad was found behaving quite erratically on the shore line of a south coast beach early one morning in January 2026. A passer-by was concerned to see him running up and down the beach and climbing onto rocks, whilst barking frantically out to sea. The Police were called and a full land and sea search was carried out, as it was feared that the dog’s owner may have been swept out to sea. Nothing was found that day and he was taken into care by the local authorities dog warden. He was kept a ;little longer than the usual 7 days due to the circumstances and an appeal by the local press went out to find the owner. Sadly, no one came forward. A body was found 2 weeks later that the Police said had no connection to the dog. His microchip had never been registered and he was surrendered to us for rehoming.
    Sadly, but totally understandably, he was completely traumatised when he was collected and taken to kennels. He has been allowed time to decompress but he sadly is still displaying a lot of anxiety. He is very uncomfortable around new people and will grumble and avoid eye contact. He will not allow himself to be petted or a lead put on him at the moment. It is very difficult to reassure him in his current environment which is why we need to find him a suitable home.
    We have limited the appeal to Lincolnshire as he is in kennels in Spalding and a potential home would need to be able to visit him on a regular basis to spend time with him before taking him home. We are unable to consider homes with children, other dogs or small animals and we feel he needs a home with space where he can be left alone when needs be.
    This is a BIG ask I know, but this is a unique rescue which will require a very special home who truly wish to “rescue” a dog.
