Theo

Theo came to me back in 2012 having recently had a plate and 13 pins fitted in his left femur to fix a break that we believe was caused by previous owners. He did well post surgery and I took him to many months of hydrotherapy to help him rebuild his hind limb muscle, and in doing so, found a whole new career for myself! However, I was aware that an injury in one limb can often have an impact on other limbs, often the diagonal one so this is something I have always kept an eye on.
In 2017 I noticed that Theo would occasionally appear a bit lame

Buddy

Half a life of mutual adoration   Buddy, a smallish, beautiful light cream Labrador came to us in July 2011 from LRSE&C after his previous owners emigrated without taking him. He was six yearsold and suffering from an itchy skin allergy and badly neglected ears.

Patch

Patch adopted us in July 2008 just after we’d lost our 13yr old black lab and right when we needed him most: he was 10 years old. We both thought when we first met him that he had at least another 3 good years in him and we wanted to make them the best ones of his life.
When he was 11 we came home one Saturday

Jack

Jack (aka Capt. Jack) came to us just after New Year in 2008, almost seven years old. From the start he was absolutely adorable, very placid, yet playful and brought tremendous joy to myself and family. He really wanted to make friends with the resident cat Quidditch (also the same age) but being the Battle Read More…

Poppy

Hello my name is Poppy Wright born I believe 28th July 2010, and I had a really tough start in life before I found my forever home in Wolverhampton. This is my story so far: I was forced to leave my mommy, brothers and sisters at 5.5 weeks not really ideal as I had not Read More…

Lily

This is the lovely Lily who is just 3 years old. Lily came to us with numerous allergies which caused her such irritation she scratched herself so badly she lost her fur. Her ears were a constant source of pain and irritation and she was generally a very unhappy girl. Read More…

Gentleman Jim

I came to Labrador Rescue as I had been allowed to just eat and eat without exercise. I reached 68 kilos, I could not walk very far without collapsing, my poor eyes were encrusted and so sore and I had an infected chin which I used to scratch all the time. The vet said I would not live very much longer unless I could find a home that would monitor my food and start to give me gentle exercise. Read More…

Frankie

Frankie came to us as a foster dog when he was 11. My husband said he could spend his last days with us in front of the fire. What a surprise I did not believe his age as he ran off all the time and had endless amounts of energy. Luckily we are an active family and I work in forestry so he was able to come with me to the office and on site visits.
We could walk for 2 to 3 hours and he had no problem.
We live on an island and everybody knows him and admires his strength and character.

Sam’s story

We’ve had Sam now for around 20 months and a very different dog is he too. You can see him here wearing his ‘festival look’ having spent the day out with Darren, Gemma and their friends. Our aim was to be able to allow him to run off the lead and introduce him to water he appears to be the only lab we’ve met who walks around puddles! Read More…

Duke

Harry

Hello, I’m Harry a 2 year old Labrador-ish. I have eight brothers and sisters and came from Lincolnshire via Lowestoft where my parents collected me from a very kind foster mum. I was the smallest of the family when I was a puppy but I’m making up for it now. My favorite pastime is to be in water, clean or dirty, doesn’t make any difference. But I hate baths. I live in Suffolk where there are lots of lovely walks and, more importantly, rivers. Read More…
